What a perfect way to cap off a hot afternoon and the end of the first series of races. I think we were all beginning to wonder if warmer temperatures would never arrive. Well they finally did and it brought out some more boats tonight. Welcome Chis Dennerlein sailing Czech Mate and Harry Pfister sailing Wind Dancer. Hope you had fun racing tonight.
It was great to see ten boats on the starting line. We haven't seen that many boats on a Tuesday night in Bay Shore in a lot of years. Hopefully a few more boats will be rigged and ready to race next week. Seeing fifteen boats racing next Tuesday is a real possibility. Our list of sailors that are interested in racing has already exceeded thirty.
Its been wonderful to see so many new faces racing this season. Some of the racers have been sailing short handed. It's great to see people who aren't racing their own boat jumping aboard another boat as crew. This truly exemplifies the spirit of the Bay Shore Invitational Race venue. Thank you all or helping make this season so successful.
Lady in Red finally made it out tonight. Shortly before the start my brother Andy who was crewing for me asked if the engine was still on. So I checked. Well not only was it on but it was in gear. REVERSE.
