We couldn't have asked for a better night. Temperature in the mid 70's, low humidity, southeast winds at 9-12 kts and 12 boats racing. We're still optimistic about seeing 15 boats racing before July is over and 18 is a real possibility. Imagine that! Life events somehow have a way of messing with things that we want to do.
Welcome back Bob Figueroa sailing Integrity and JV Phillips sailing his Rhodes 22. Glad you guys finally got your boats wet. It's July already! LOL We missed you.
There always seems to be at least one funny story being told after the race. This week we were happy to learn that Jim Papa didn't loose his way. He just decided to run his own course and added an "extra" turning mark to the first upwind leg. Wait, wait, it gets better! He actually missed rounding the "extra" mark and had to sail back to it because he forgot to round it. That's my version of the story and I'm sticking to it. I hope Jim has a perfectly logical explanation. (and a sense of humor)
Harry Manko gave me the opportunity to read the writing on the stern of his boat tonight. Our finish was close enough that I could not only read "Full Circle" but also the hull identification number. (without my glasses) Close races are always fun.
