Thursday, 5/31 was for “spotty” showers, cloudy with southeast winds at around 10 mph. What we experienced were wind gusts approaching 20 mph at times with driving rain for about an hour. The good news is that we were prepared and were never really cold. Only two boats made it out to race and Marty O’Connell and crew were there as race committee. Thank you Marty!
With the southerly winds at the start of the race, Marty chose a Start, “9”, “6”, finish triangle course, which was a good for the conditions.
Rick LaTorre on his S-2 “Dark Star”, took first place on the night beating out Eddie Anderson racing his Sabre 36 “At Last”. Considering the cloudy, rainy conditions, it is fair to say that we all had a good time.
